Protecting our Loved Ones

Right now the City of Mesa is experiencing a shortage of police officers leaving our communities under patrolled and pushing our current force to exhaustion. We must push ourselves to find the funding necessary to help our police, fire and other public safety departments hire the personnel they need to keep us safe.

Mesa District 6 is the furthest out from Mesa’s urban core and public safety response times are an issue of concern for all of us. Whether it’s passing a municipal bond or fighting for more funding to add substations, I’m ready to bring the residents of District 6 the services they need to feel safe as our City continues to grow.

Attention to the Details

If you know me, you know I’m all about the details. To maintain and increase our quality of life here in District 6, we need the perspective of a mother and community volunteer who has experienced all facets of life in our part of Mesa.

I know what it’s like to have to drive over 20 minutes to take my kids to a recreational program. To plan my day around what I can accomplish while sitting in the car waiting for their activity to be over because the drive home is too long. And, at the end of a long week, the last thing I want to do is fight traffic and drive somewhere else to enjoy dinner and conversation with my husband and our friends. I know the value of quality restaurants and entertainment close to home. But we can only attract these amenities to District 6 if we have well maintained streets, clean landscaping, effective waste management, and the other services necessary to support them.

With me representing you on Council, know that no issue will be too small for me. I will be ready and excited to take your call about a street sign that’s fallen over, a broken park bench, or a pothole. Because my job is to make sure your city tax dollars are working for you.

Responsible Development

I love Mesa and want current and future residents to have the same positive experiences my family has had living here for 22 years.

Mesa is quickly becoming a leading American city, spurring economic development, job opportunities, and rapid residential growth - and District 6 is experiencing all of these effects. We must meet the challenges and seize the opportunities available by ensuring this growth happens in a way that is sustainable and makes sense economically but also protects what makes our community special, therefore, making our home a great place to live for current residents and future generations.

My strengths as a leader include relationship building, listening and collaboration, which helps me bring together groups of people who are not seeing eye to eye. I will facilitate both parties coming to the table to understand each other’s goals and intentions and create solutions that benefit residents and help developers move forward.

I see District 6 growing in a way that promotes economic development but maintains a high quality of life for residents. I envision a safe community, filled with quality education options for our kids, infrastructure that prevents obnoxious traffic jams, well-paying jobs without a long commute and an affordable cost of living that ensures my adult kids can live near me (I hope they want to).

With your support, I’ll get it done.

Fix Traffic. Shorter Commutes.

While growth brings many positives, one of the greatest negatives is increased traffic… and it’s getting especially bad here in District 6. We need an immediate, decisive plan to address these challenges now and in the future because traffic is only going to get worse. Longer commutes will mean more limited job and live entertainment options for District 6 residents, not to mention increased (and potentially deadly) response time increases for first responders.

This emerging problem is extremely preventable if we take action now.
